Whitby Fabrics Sewing Centre has been a family business since 1988, initially operated by sisters, Laurie and Diane. Since Diane's retirement in 2005, Laurie has continued to operate the business, and with the addition of her husband Jim to the staff, the "family" tradition carries on.

Other traditions that Whitby Fabrics Sewing Centre is known for include being known as "the place to go" for quality fabrics, as well as "the only place to buy a sewing machine.

There have been many changes at Whitby Fabrics Sewing Centre over the years, changes that reflect the exciting advances in the world of sewing. The store has undergone four major renovations, and new products and services have been added to provide our customers with a truly one-stop shopping experience. We are an authorized dealer for Husqvarna Viking sewing machines and we offer unlimited, free, private lessons with every machine purchase.
Along with a wide selection of high quality fabrics, we have hundreds and hundreds of buttons from around the world, patterns from the major pattern companies, notions galore and the latest in sewing machine accessories. We provide service and repair to all makes of sewing machines, sergers and sewing/embroidery machines.
Our store has recently expanded with the relocation of our classroom from upstairs to the main floor, with easy access from the parking area. This bright, spacious, fully equipped classroom has been designed to provide the best for our students. We offer a complete range of classes and seminars for all sewers, novice to experienced.  and our Junior Sewing Academy has introduced hundreds of very young sewers to the wonderful world of sewing. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff will gladly help you with your sewing needs. Treat yourself to a store visit soon.
